Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing or using Saient, or by visiting the saient.co.uk website, you agree to these Terms of Service.
If you do not agree, do not use the site or the software. No tricks, no lock-in.
2. What Saient Is (and Isn’t)
Saient is a desktop application that runs AI models locally on your own hardware — chat, a coding agent, image generation, a vision analyzer, text-to-speech and LoRA training.
Saient is not:
- A cloud AI service
- A hosting provider
- A content moderation service
- A data processor for your AI inputs or outputs
We ship software. You decide how to use it.
3. Free Trial, Purchase & Licence
Saient is offered with a 30-day free trial. After the trial, continued use of the full application requires a one-time payment of £20 GBP, which unlocks a personal licence.
- The licence is a personal, non-transferable right to use Saient on machines you own or control.
- Your licence key is issued to you after payment and verified offline on your device. You are responsible for keeping it safe.
- You may not resell, sublicense, publish, or share your licence key.
- The unlock is a one-time payment. It is not a subscription and does not renew.
4. Refunds
Because Saient gives you a full 30-day free trial to evaluate every feature before paying, the £20 unlock is generally non-refundable once a licence key has been issued.
This does not affect your statutory rights. Where the software is faulty or not as described, or where UK consumer law otherwise entitles you to a refund, we will honour that. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, contact us and we’ll put it right.
5. User Intent & Control
All actions performed by Saient occur only as a result of explicit user input.
You are responsible for:
- Inputs you provide
- Models you download
- Outputs you generate
- How and where data is stored
Saient does not monitor, inspect, or interfere with your usage.
6. Local Execution Disclaimer
Saient executes on your system. This means:
- Performance depends on your hardware
- Errors, crashes, or data loss may occur
- You are responsible for backups and system safety
The built-in coding agent can read, write and run commands in a sandboxed workspace. Write mode is off by default. You are responsible for any actions you authorise it to take.
7. AI Models & Third-Party Content
Saient does not own or control third-party models, datasets, or tools you may use with it.
You are responsible for:
- Complying with model licenses
- Understanding usage restrictions
- Verifying suitability for your jurisdiction or use case
We do not grant rights we do not own.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Saient to:
- Violate UK law or applicable international law
- Infringe intellectual property rights
- Circumvent safeguards in a way that causes harm to others
9. No Professional Advice
Saient does not provide legal, medical, financial, or safety-critical advice. AI-generated outputs are not guaranteed to be accurate or safe for real-world reliance.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
Saient is provided “as is” and “as available”. We make no guarantees regarding accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or continuous availability.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted under UK law, Saient is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including data loss, hardware damage, lost profits, or misuse of outputs. Nothing in these terms limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
12. Updates & Changes
We may update the software, change documentation, and modify features. We are not obligated to maintain backward compatibility. Terms will be updated when necessary, with the latest version posted here.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
