The short version
Saient has no accounts, advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDK. The AI models run on your phone. The app uses the network for model downloads, web lookups you request, links you choose to open, and an optional in-app safety report. A safety report sends only the category you select, the feature and model involved, and the app version. It never includes your prompt, chat, generated file, seed or a device/account identifier.
What we collect
Optional safety reports. If you tap Report, choose a category and submit it, StaticPlay receives the selected category, feature type (chat, image or video), model label, app version, a random report reference and server receipt time. We use these reports only to review and improve content safeguards. Reports are deleted automatically after 90 days. They are not used for advertising or profiling.
Service request logs. When the app downloads model files from saient.co.uk, the web server records the IP address, timestamp, requested file and user agent needed to deliver, secure and troubleshoot the download service. Logs rotate daily and the current server configuration retains 14 archives (approximately 14 days). We do not use the IP address to infer location, build a profile or advertise to you.
There is no sign-up, user profile, advertising identifier or telemetry SDK. The safety-report route disables ordinary request access logging. Like every internet connection, the server and its in-memory rate limiter necessarily process the connecting IP address while handling the request, but the report record itself contains no IP address.
What stays on your device
All of the following are processed locally and stored in the application's private storage:
- Prompts you type and your conversations with the local model
- Images and videos generated by the app
- Generation settings such as negative prompts and seeds
- Downloaded model files
These items are not included in safety reports or sent to us. Saved images and videos are listed inside the app, where any single one can be deleted permanently. You can also remove all app-private content through Android Settings by clearing Saient's storage, or by uninstalling the app.
Sharing a result is yours to choose. A generated image or video stays in Saient's private storage until you tap Share and pick a destination. Saient then hands that single file to the app you selected — a messaging app, cloud drive, or your files. Saient does not receive a copy and is not told what you picked. Once a file reaches another app it is covered by that app's privacy policy, not this one.
When the app uses the internet
- Model downloads. The app downloads model files from
saient.co.ukwhen you choose to install a model. No prompt or generated content is part of the file request. - Web lookup, only when you ask. If you use the assistant's web-search tool, the search term is sent to DuckDuckGo (
html.duckduckgo.com) and/or Wikipedia (en.wikipedia.org). Those services receive the query under their own privacy policies. - Safety reporting, only when you submit. The minimal category and app context described above are sent over HTTPS to
saient.co.uk. The app shows success only after the server returns a report reference. - Opening links. Tapping a website or licence link opens it in your browser.
After models are downloaded, ordinary chat, image generation and video generation work without cloud inference and can run with Wi-Fi and mobile data switched off.
Why the app asks for each permission
Contacts
Only so the assistant can act on a request such as finding a contact. Contact data is processed on the device and is not uploaded to us.
Notifications
Android requires a visible notification while a user-requested on-device generation continues in the foreground service.
Internet
Model downloads, requested web lookups, optional safety reports and links, as described above.
Saient does not request camera, microphone, call-log, direct-call or direct-SMS permission. You can revoke an allowed permission in Android Settings; the dependent feature will stop working.
Who else is involved
We do not use a third-party AI inference service. The models execute on your device. StaticPlay directly operates the model-download and safety-report receiver at saient.co.uk.
DuckDuckGo and Wikipedia receive a search term only when you explicitly request a web lookup. Links you open are handled by your browser and the destination site. We do not sell user data or share safety reports for advertising.
Open-weight model files are governed by their respective licences. Running a downloaded model locally does not transmit your prompt or output to its author.
How reports are protected and removed
Safety reports are sent over HTTPS, accepted by a dedicated restricted receiver, and stored as access-controlled records. The receiver rejects unknown or extra fields so prompts, free text and media cannot be included accidentally. Each report is automatically removed after 90 days. Model-download request logs follow the approximately 14-day rotation described above.
You may request earlier deletion of a safety report by emailing the reference shown in the app after submission to chrishall@saient.co.uk. Without that reference or an account/device identifier, we cannot reliably distinguish one anonymous report from another.
Children
Saient is not directed at children and is not intended for users under 13. The app has no social feed, anonymous user-to-user chat or content-sharing service. Its prompt gates and model instructions prohibit exploitative content, including sexual content involving minors.
Your rights and how to exercise them
Under UK GDPR you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection for data we hold. To exercise a right or ask about this policy, contact us. We aim to respond within one month.
